Streak of Luck Slot Machine
The Streak of Luck slot machine from Playtech is an interesting machine that utilises some non-standard features to deliver a slot experience like no other. The various bonus stages are great, and the theme is fitting.
On top of that, the artwork is tastefully done. All this converges to create a game that provides excellent relief from the more uninspired slot machines out there.

Pros
- Unique features that work well with the game’s overall theme.
- Progressive jackpot – who doesn’t love a game with the potential to drop a huge prize.
Cons
- Players are very limited as to how they can spread their money around on Streak of Luck. There’s no option to adjust the win lines. Only the line bet can be altered.
- The betting limit is capped painfully low. High rollers will surely be disappointed with the £20 maximum bet per spin.
Top Jackpots
All the highest value symbols on the Streak of Luck slot machine are inspired by traditional symbols thought to bring good luck. The top jackpots are won by hitting five-of-a-kind of each of these. These winning combinations will pay as follows:
- Card player (wild) = 1,000x the line bet.
- Ladybird, and Waving cat = 250x the line bet.
- Horse shoe, and Chinese symbols = 100x the line bet.
- Acorn, and four-leaf clover = 75x the line bet.
Dice Bonus
Landing the dice “bonus” symbol on reels one, three, and five simultaneously will trigger the Dice Bonus round. Here, players must roll the lucky dice a total of three times. After each roll, they’ll be awarded with a cash bonus of 212x the total bet.
Hitting a double (two of the same number) will unlock an extra roll, up to a maximum of three additional plays.
“Lucky 7’s” is a special pay for scoring a seven, two or three times during the bonus. The amount payable is a juicy 20x the total bet, and triple seven’s will pay 200x the total. What’s more, the bonus can be triggered from both the main game, and free games. If it’s triggered during the free games, all wins are doubled too!
Lucky Free Games
Hitting consecutive wins whilst playing Streak of Luck can be very lucrative indeed. The first three consecutive wins will light up the first three arrows at the bottom of the meter to the right of the gameboard. The fourth consecutive win will light up the first prize-sign on the meter, this is how free games are triggered.
The meter shows the progress of your winning streak and the prize secured thus far. Once a non-winning spin follows, you’re awarded with the last prized secured. This is highlighted on the meter.
The more consecutive wins you’re able to bag, the higher the overall prize will be. One minor drawback however is the fact that free games cannot be retriggered.
Lucky jackpot
Hitting 10 consecutive winning spins will award the progressive jackpot prize. There are six separate jackpots to be won. This will depend on the size of the total bet. Once the 10th consecutive winning spin has been reached, the corresponding jackpot is awarded. This can be massive, depending on stake size and time since the last progressive was won.
Regular Symbols
In addition to the higher value luck-inspired symbols, there are also some that pay lesser amounts. As appears to be the industry standard these days, they’re taken from the upper end of standard deck of playing cards (A, K, Q, J, 10, 9). Hitting five-of-a-kind of each across a single win line will pay as follows:
- Ace = 60x the line bet.
- King = 50x the line bet.
- Queen = 40x the line bet.
- Jack = 30x the line bet.
- 10, or 9 = 25x the line bet.
Betting Limits
Owing to its rather unique features, the betting limits on Streak of Luck are narrow. The number of win lines is fixed at 50, and the only option which players can adjust is the amount bet per line.
The minimum here is just 1p, and the maximum is 40p. This makes the lowest bet per spin possible 50p and the highest a rather unimpressive £20. Evidently, Streak of Luck is not ideal for those who like to bet big on the slots.
What We Think
You might not be able to bet your house on Streak of Luck but all told, it’s a very solid title. The unique game features make for a game that has loads of replay value, and they complement the theme of the slot very well.
The main criticisms we had of this title relate to the betting limits, and how players can distribute their money across the win lines. As is often the case on slots with innovative features, this is necessary for the mathematics relating to return-to-player ratings to work out.
