Maji Wilds Slot Machine
All is not as it seems on the Maji Wilds slot machine by Playtech. We join a familiar character from the veteran developers’ back catalogue – Joker – as he performs sorcery on the reels before our very eyes.
The slot itself is played across five reels and four rows of symbols. This creates a total of 50 win lines along which symbols much be matched. In terms of special features, Maji Wilds does come equipped with a really inventive take of “wild” symbols. However, given that this is the only bonus game on title, this fails to make the title a great one.

Maji Wilds Review
|Max Win:||1,000x line bet|
|Our Rating:||3 / 5|
- Strong visual presentation. We liked the art style of Maji Wilds. It’s certainly nice to see the return of the Joker from earlier slots by Playtech.
- Interesting bonus feature. The fact that “wilds” change into all sorts of cool special power features is a fantastic touch.
- Reasonably high main game prizes. We like being able to hit a decent payment off a single spin. We’re happy to report that this is the case on Maji Wilds.
The top jackpots on Maji Wilds are all awarded for matching five of the same symbols along one of the 50 win lines on the title. These are represented by various symbols relevant to Playtech’s Joker series. We’ve listed the prizes for each five-of-a-kind combination below:
- “Wild” = 1,000x the line bet.
- Joker = 500x the line bet.
- Woman = 300x the line bet.
- Crocodile = 300x the line bet.
- Potion = 150x the line bet.
- Human or Goat Skull = 100x the line bet.
In Maji Wilds, “wild” symbols are even more exciting than they are on most other slot machines.
After each spin, every “wild” symbol on the reels will turn into one of five different bonus wild cards. Each of the special “wild” symbols will continue to substitute for any other symbol on the title but will also impact gameplay in other ways.
The least exciting of the special “wild” symbols is the standard “wild”. This substitutes for other symbols only.
The purple ghost symbol will possess random symbols on the reels and transform them into “wilds”.
The snake symbol will slither across the reels and transform each symbol in its path into additional “wild” symbols.
The voodoo doll “wild” symbols will stay stuck to the reels for the next five spins.
The eyeless multiplier will lock in place until a win is hit. Every spin that occurs that does not result in a win will increase the multiplier up to a total of 5x.
In addition to the game’s higher value symbols, there are also those that do not pay quite so well. As is common on modern video slots these days, these are represented by the upper end of a standard deck of playing cards (A, K, Q).
If you look below, you’ll find the payments for each five-of-a-kind combination of these lower valued symbols:
- Ace = 75x the line bet.
- King or Queen = 50x the line bet.
The number of win lines on Maji Wilds is fixed at 50. Players are only able to adjust the total amount bet on each. The minimum is just 1p and the maximum is £1. The makes the lowest possible bet just 50p. Meanwhile, the maximum is a rather measly £50.
Whilst many players will find these limits more than accommodating, the highest rollers around will likely think that they are overly limiting.
The Maji Wilds slot machine by Playtech is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some qualities about it that are simply great – the transforming “wilds” feature and artwork, for example. We also enjoyed the revival the Joker from the designer’s back catalogue. Large main game prizes always go down well with us too.
All that said, the slot just feels a bit barren. The single bonus feature doesn’t feel like enough to keep a player engaged for any serious length of time. A true second screen game would certainly increase Maji Wilds’s overall rating.
