A-Z List of Playtech Slot Machines
What Are The Most Popular Playtech Slots?
Playtech aren’t just a favourite of online casino and gaming providers, they also produce loads of slot games that are popular with punters too.
The following are ten of their most famous and popular titles, some of which have been attracting thousands upon thousands of punters for a number of years.
*All are available to play at the Playtech online casino sites listed in our table above.
Themed for the classic cartoon that’s known to millions, whether they’ve actually seen it or not, Playtech’s Pink Panther slot is hugely popular with punters. Featuring graphics and symbols linked to the cartoon, arguably the most notable feature of this slot is the regularity with which players can trigger bonus rounds and features beyond the main game.
Are you not entertained? Punters certainly have been for many years by this fun and attractive slot themed around the epic blockbuster movie from the year 2000. Featuring an excellent main game and two great bonus rounds, the real attraction of this slot is the way it uses elements from the Russell Crowe film. As well as symbols that movie fans will instantly recognise, the slot also utilises actual snippets and sound effects from the film itself.
Frankie Dettori Magic Seven
A slot which has seen its popularity grow way beyond those players who actually remember the event it celebrates, Frankie Dettori Magic Seven is a horse racing themed game based on the day the Italian jockey won all the races at a UK meeting. The slots symbols, therefore, include a collection of racing and Dettori themed images whilst the game itself boasts two different horse race themed bonus rounds.
A tongue in cheek slot that is a favourite with a great many casual punters, Dr Lovemore is named for an eponymous love doctor. The game sees players try to find love for the increasingly desperate doctor and includes dating themed symbols, including underpants symbols which are crucial for triggering free spins and launching a bonus round.
A Night Out
Another slot that attracts players who don’t mind a game with a risqué theme, A Night Out is a multi-stake, multi-line slot based upon a quintessential night on the tiles. Featured symbols include beer glasses, cocktails and new friends you might meet when out and about, and features and bonus games are all related to a big night on the town.
Proving to be a real knockout with punters, Playtech’s Rocky slot based on the famous boxing film series is now available on land-based slot machines in betting shops and casinos as well as online. A fairly simple five reel video slot, the game’s symbols include characters and images from the movies, some of which can trigger a boxing themed bonus game.
There’s gold in them there hills! At least that’s what Gold Rally, a slot themed around the 1849 California Gold Rush, tells punters. At face value, the slot looks like a really straightforward three reel game, but in fact boasts an innovative setup that actually makes it more like a nine reel alternative. That interesting feature is then supplemented by fun symbols and a good bonus game to produce a slot that’s one of the most popular around.
Appealing to any players who dream of being able to lounge the hours away on an idyllic beach, Beach Life features ice lolly, sunbathing and other similarly themed symbols. A simple but fun mini game is also included, but what really makes this slot so popular is the awesome progressive jackpot attached to it, which could really make life a beach for any lucky winner.
Strangely launched a number of years after the 2005 film which it is based upon, King Kong proved to be worth the wait for players. Boasting two different game modes, with the second taking some work to trigger, the slot is a challenging one which is sure to keep the attention. The symbols include characters from the Naomi Watts and Jack Black movie, and super fun bonus games are based on the film’s plot.
Another aspirational slot game from Playtech, this one takes the dream of winning the lottery as its inspiration. Including symbols depicting lotto balls, tickets, wads of cash and flutes of champagne, the slot aims to give players a taste of the high life. What it also offers, more realistically, is hours of free spin heavy fun and a really good bonus game.
Who Are Playtech?
Now that you’ve got a flavour of the great Playtech slot machines, it’s a good time to take a closer look at the company itself. With that in mind, the below is a whistle stop tour of Playtech’s origins, development and growth.
The Early Days
Playtech was first founded back in 1999 in Tartu, Estonia by Teddy Sagi and a group of entrepreneurial partners from the casino and software engineering industries.
After two years of development and work, the company was able to welcome its very first casino licensee in 2001.
For the next few years, Playtech gradually and consistently grew to add not only more licensees but also more products to their portfolio. By 2006, therefore, the company were already able to offer live casino, online bingo, online poker, videobet, mobile casino and many other software options to their clients.
It was in 2006 that Playtech management took the decision to float the company on the London Stock Exchange. The floatation was a huge success and saw Playtech enter the London Stock Exchange’s AIM (the market for smaller, growing companies) at an initial valuation of approximately £550 million.
In the same year, too, Playtech made some other significant moves in an attempt to expand and to diversify their business. Those included opening offices in Bulgaria and entering new, regulated markets including Italy, Spain and Serbia. It was this expansion and development of the company’s base that laid the groundwork for the more rapid growth which would soon follow.
Integrations & Acquisitions
After establishing themselves as a major player in the online gaming software industry, Playtech began acquiring and integrating rival companies into their organisation. In the year 2010 alone, a whole raft of acquisitions included the purchase of Virtue Fusion (the largest bingo provider in the UK), Mobenga (a leading mobile gambling enabler) and Intelligence Gaming (a leading provider of management systems).
Moves such as those helped Playtech to become a true multi-channel software provider and began the company’s assent toward their position at the very top of their industry. That rise up the ladder continued in 2012, when the company’s listing was moved from the AIM to the main market of the London Stock Exchange. As if to celebrate that achievement, too, it was in the same year that Playtech purchased the UK’s leading online sports betting provider Geneity to further diversify their product portfolio.
A Global Leader
Thanks to that intelligent and rapid development, Playtech can now accurately describe themselves as the world’s leading online gaming software provider.
As of 2016, the company employed over 5,000 people across a total of 13 countries and territories, and can boast partnerships with many of the world’s best known betting and gaming platforms.
As well as those relationships with betting and gaming providers, Playtech also now work with some giants of other industries.
Recently, for example, the company struck a deal with Warner Bros to produce slot games themed around the DC Comic characters, films and shows owned by that corporation.
Given Playtech’s position at the very top of the online gaming software industry, it should come as no surprise that the company has received a plethora of industry awards over the past few years. In fact, both the company and its employees are amongst the most highly decorated in the world of online gaming software.
The company, for instance, were awarded the prestigious Best iGaming Software Provider award at the International Gaming awards for three years running between 2011 and 2013. What’s more, at the equally renowned eGaming Review B2B Awards, Playtech were the proud recipients of no fewer than four gongs in 2013 and then three just last year in 2016.
Those awards saw the company receive recognition for their work in the bingo, poker and casino spheres and in 2016 also included the most highly sought after Multi-Channel Supplier of the Year award. A number of Playtech casino sites were also independently recognised.
As well as receiving companywide accolades, many of Playtech’s top level employees have also taken home impressive awards. The 2014 Gaming Intelligence Hot 50 (a list of the 50 most talented and inspiring individuals within the gaming industry), for instance, included a full three Playtech employees.
That trio was namely the company’s CFO Ron Hoffman, their VP of Business Development Uri Levy and their COO Shay Segev. What’s more, Segev was appearing on the list for the second time and became the only person to have ever done so.
