The Beach slot game is arguably one of the most simple around but does still include a few interesting and notable features. In order to help you to decide if it is a game you’d like to try, we will now briefly explain the game’s top jackpot, special symbols, paytable and betting limits.
Beach is not a traditionally styled slots game, in that reels have been replaced with columns of seaside themed symbols and spins with waves washing up the beach to rearrange those symbols. Coins are won within the game when the player sees three or more consecutive symbols line up from left to right within any one of the game’s 20 pre-set paylines.
The top jackpot that can be won through a wave on the Beach slot is worth a total of 40,000 coins. That jackpot can be won by lining up five of the game’s most valuable symbols (which will be discussed below) and doing so within a wave when the ‘Octopus Wild’ symbol appears and multiplies winnings by two. How that equates to a win of 40,000 coins will become clear when you read on and learn about the special symbols, paytable and betting limits associated with this slot.
There are three separate special symbols which play an integral part within the Beach slots game, and these are the Wild symbol, the Octopus Wild symbol and the Scatter symbol.
Wild Symbol – this symbol takes the form of a piece of driftwood with the word ‘wild’ on it, can appear in columns 1,2, 4 or 5 and works in the same way as traditional wild symbols. That is by substituting in for any other symbol (apart from the Octopus Wild or Scatter) within a payline to return the highest possible winning combination.
Octopus Wild symbol – appears only in column 3 is a little more complicated, in that it does work as a traditional wild but also multiplies any winnings by two and has one further function. That is to swap the position of any two adjacent symbols from columns 2, 3 or 4 to create the highest possible win for the player. If no such successful swap is possible, the octopus remains to the left of the columns as further waves occur, until there is a possible swap to be made.
Scatter symbol – represented by a message in a bottle and can appear in any position, is the symbol which activates the ‘Free Waves’ feature of the slot. If three, four or five scatters appear anywhere after a wave, the player earns either eight, 16 or 24 free waves respectively. Those free waves are played at the same bet level and coin value as the wave which activated them and any winnings from them is added to the player’s total winnings.
Winning combinations in the Beach slots game result when three or more symbols appear consecutively from left to right as part of any of the 20 pre-set paylines. The most valuable symbol within the game is the treasure chest symbol, which provides a win of 2000 times the bet level if the full five are achieved.
If that combination appears at the highest bet level of 10 and during a wave when the Octopus Wild is present therefore, that represents the top jackpot win of 40,000 coins (2000 x 10 and then doubled by the Octopus Wild). The next most valuable symbol is the pearl symbol which pays 1000 times the bet level and therefore can provide a maximum payout of 20,000 coins.
The amount that each player bets per wave is determined by what they set as their ‘Bet Level’ and ‘Coin Value’. The Bet Level determines how many coins are bet per line and the ten different choices range from a minimum of one to a maximum of ten. The Coin Value then sets how much each coin that is bet is worth and those seven options begin at 1p and reach as high as £1.
As the number of paylines is pre-set at 20 therefore, the minimum amount a player can bet per wave equals a total of 20p and the maximum can be as much as £200.
What We Think
Beach is one of a number of slots games which seem to operate on the principle of ‘less is more’ when it comes to actual gameplay. It is a very simple game with a comparatively low number of special symbols and bonus features, aside from its two wilds and the provision of ‘free waves’. Whether that is an advantage or disadvantage however, is largely dependent on the individual player and whether they want complicated features or prefer an easy to understand and quick to play game.
When it comes to betting limits and potential winnings Beach rates quite well, with players able to take full control over their wagering amounts and having the opportunity to win a not insignificant top jackpot. All in all then, Beach represents a great option for anyone who wants an attractive yet simple slot that offers good mid-range payouts.
